Cransbill Lace Square

This is another that works up smaller than expected, but it has a simple elegance to it. It does contain bobble stitches,

Mosaic Tile

I like this square for the simple fact that despite that multiple color combination, it still comes out small than expected. I made one with a size 6.0mm hook and it still only measured 3 inches in length/width. This pattern does require you to carry colors over rows rather fastening off and refastening yarns.

Base Ring: Using color A, ch6, join with a slip stitch

Round 1: Ch4,[1dc, ch1] 11 times into the ring, slip st to 3rd of ch-4, draw color B though loop, drop Color A

Round 2: [1sc into next sp, ch2] 12 times, slip st to 1st sc, draw Color A though loop, drop Color B

Round 3: *[1sc into next sp, ch2] twice, [3dc, ch2] twice into next sp ffor corner; rep from *3 times more, slip st to 1st sc, draw Color B through loop, cast off Color A

Round 4: *(1sc, ch3) into each sp to corner, [1sc, ch3] twice into corner sp; rep from * 3 times more, slip st to 1st sc.

This is another square that has the puff stitch to it, Having made this one before, to me at least, it looks best being made in a solid color

French Square

This square does contain puff stitches, which can be intimidating if you’ve never done them, but they are very easy to do. I do recommend watching you tension though, as it is very easy to make them to tight or to loose.

Double Crochet Square

The Double Crochet Square is great if you want to make a square that don’t have a lot of holes in it, the way the Traditional Granny Square does. This one is also a good one to just keep repeating the rows until it gets to the size that you want without having to make multiple squares to piece together. Each round after round 2 increases by 4 stitches

Base Ring: Chain 4, join with slip stitch

Round 1: Ch5 (count as 1dc, ch2), [3dc into the ring, ch2] 3 times, 2dc into ring. slip st to 3rd of ch-5

Round 2: Slip st into next sp, chain 7 (counts as 1dc, ch4) *2dc into same sp, 1dc into each dc across the side of square**, 2dc into next sp, ch4; repeat from * twice more and from * to ** again, 1 dc in same space as ch-7, slip st to 3rd of ch-7. {4 groups of 7dc}

Round 3: Repeat as Round 2. { 4 groups of 11dc}

Round 4: Repeat as Round 2. {4 groups of 15dc}
