 So the first tea of 2025 is an Earl Grey.

This should surprise no one.

 

I will be honest, after my experience with the Spice and Tea Exchange’s Chocolate Black Tea, I was not that hopeful about the taste of another chocolate tea.

That being said, I’m glad that I was proven wrong about this one. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be adding this one to my list of ones I need to have on hand year round.

Lavender Earl Grey Tea

Today’s tea is a subtle earl grey from Friday Afternoon Teas.

This is part of their Signature House Collection.

I promise I have other brands of tea, I’m just on a fixation at the moment. Also, I am not getting paid for any of these endorsements.

I’ve made no secret about the fact that i am, absolutely, an Earl Grey Tea kind of girl. I’m also not a big fan of lavender in tea, as most of the time I find is very overwhelming.

This time however, I was pleasantly surprised. The lavender is there, but it is very, very subtle. I enjoyed this tea, alot. So much so that I forgot that I should be writing down my thoughts on this as I was drinking it and ended up making a 2nd cup.

I do plan on getting the largest bag of it that they have available.

White Silk Earl Grey

Here’s another tea from Friday Afternoon Tea.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. It only has 3 ingredients.

The description says it’s a smooth and delicate Earl Grey. I found it to be tangy, though not unpleasant.

Would I buy this again? Probably not, but I would recommend to others that I know would prefer this flavor profile.

This is made with a white tea so it does not have the bite of a typical Earl Gray tea.

Per usual, I did not add anything to the tea.

Double Cream Earl Grey

This Double Cream Earl Grey tea is a Friday Afternoon Tea, and they also have a brick and mortar location in Seattle, Washington.

I bought 4  of their sample boxes so that I could try a few of their new teas, as the ones before this in my collection are a couple of years old.

This tea, the Double Cream Earl Grey, comes from their Earls Grey collection. I have 8 samples from this collection.

I went with this one today because I wanted tea, but I didn’t want a breakfast-strength (deep flavor) tea.

This tea, definitely fit the bill for what I was looking for.

It is very mellow, and not strong on the bergamot flavoring that most Earl Grey teas have. The blue cornflower and cream flavorings are much more enjoyable that I anticipated them being.

I will admit that I let it get cold, but even then, the taste didn’t disappoint.

This one is definitely going on my list to order more of.

 

Earl Grey – Twinings of London

Twinings has been around since 1706. It’s one of the oldest tea companies in the world.

Their Earl Grey Tea is black tea that contains bergamot peel and other natural flavoring. It is a high caffeinated tea., but does have a decaf version available. You can ordered from the website for Twinings of London in both bagged and loose leaf versions.

Among the health benefits to drinking black tea, are its ingredients that help with blood cholesterol and help reduce the risk of heart disease.

I will admit that the Twinings Earl Grey is a staple in my house. I’ve been drinking it on and off since I was a teenager. Tea drinking is a daily thing with the women on my mother’s side of the family.

I drink the bagged version that can be found at most grocery stores. It’s a good black tea that has a bit of a kick to it. It’s also one of the few teas that I have had that is still drinkable when its at room temperature.
